This past weekend, our law firm, Barnett, Lerner, Karsen & Frankel, P.A., sponsored participation for the founder of the firm, David Barnett, in the 7th annual Dolphins Cancer Challenge. The event included five bike routes through South Florida and a 5K run/walk that raised over $4.5 million dollars for cancer research.
David Barnett, who was proud to do his part, inspires us. He completed the Hurricane Hundred, the 100-mile bike course that began at Hard Rock Stadium. Investing time and money into the communities where we live and work is important to our firm. We make a concerted effort to support local events and significant causes, and we are honored to contribute to this race, which impacts people fighting cancer in such a substantial way.
The Dolphins Cancer Challenge is a collaborative effort between the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Our firm is dedicated to this event because 100 percent of the funds raised by participants go directly to the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. We feel privileged to help all those patients who are struggling against this debilitating disease and hope that we can make a difference in their lives.
